The UAE has introduced new labour regulations to promote competitiveness and attractiveness. Key changes include:

1. Implementation of bank guarantee and employment protection insurance: Employers can choose between a bank guarantee (AED3,000 per worker) or an insurance policy (AED137.50-250 per worker).
2. New classification criteria for private sector establishments: Companies are categorized into three tiers based on compliance with laws, worker rights, and Emiratisation rates.
3. Raising Emiratisation rates: A 2% annual increase in Emiratisation rates is aimed at creating 12,000 job opportunities for citizens by 2026.
4. Establishment of a committee to investigate collective labour disputes: A committee will settle disputes over financial rights of 50 or more workers.
5. Amendments to the Wages Protection System: Establishments that fail to follow the WPS will face administrative procedures, field visits, and electronic monitoring.
