Bullying, intimidation, and harassment are prohibited in the District, and the goal is to provide all students with a safe learning environment. Bullying is defined as any severe or pervasive physical or verbal act or conduct that has the effect of placing a student in reasonable fear of harm, causing a substantially detrimental effect on a student's physical or mental health, substantially interfering with a student's academic performance, or substantially interfering with a student's ability to participate in or benefit from school services. Bullying can take various forms, including harassment, threats, intimidation, stalking, physical violence, and cyberbullying. The District has a bullying prevention and response plan that includes reporting procedures, investigation, and intervention strategies, as well as restorative measures to address bullying incidents. Students, staff, and parents are encouraged to report bullying, and the District will promptly inform parents of students involved in alleged incidents and provide support services.
