In the afternoon, at Aoki Gallery, from 13:30-15:00, there will be a lecture by Fujiwara Koji titled "Naoshima's Komainu" where he will talk about Komainu.
The event is supported by the Naoshima Town Board of Education, the Shokoku Island Town Board of Education, and the Sanin Geopark Promotion Committee, and is subsidized by the Fukutake Foundation.
The event will explore Naoshima's Komainu, mostly from the Edo period, and will follow the prosperity of the Edo period through the dedication of Komainu.
The event will be led by Fujiwara Koji, who has been working at the Kurashiki Buried Cultural Property Center since 2005 and has been researching Komainu.
The participation fee is 200 yen per person, and participants should bring their own lunch, drinks, and writing utensils.
The event is limited to 20 people, and participants can choose to attend either the morning or afternoon session.
In case of rain, the event will be cancelled.
There will also be a Komainu panel photo exhibition from February 11-25 at the Naoshima Town Comprehensive Welfare Center Entrance Hall.
