Summary

A unit for filtering terahertz and subterahertz electromagnetic radiation is presented, based on an evanescent waveguide and quasi-optical methods. The filter design allows for a sharp transmission cutoff with minimal attenuation in the passband and significant suppression of low-frequency radiation. Measured attenuation is 6-12 dB in the transmission band and 30-60 dB out of the transmission band, with theoretical values reaching over 60 dB beyond the passband. The filter can be used for determining and studying spectra in the subterahertz and terahertz bands, particularly where a sharp spectral cutoff is required.
