Summary

A group of stapled securityholders, representing approximately 10.54% of Eagle Hospitality Real Estate Investment Trust (EH-REIT), has requested an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) to provide unit securityholders with alternative options. The current plan proposed by the Trustee and its advisors may lead to liquidation if a new Manager is not appointed. The securityholders, led by former chairman Howard Wu, propose two resolutions: a rights issue of up to US$50 million of new units at US$0.075 each, and the retention of the current Manager, Eagle Hospitality REIT Management Pte Ltd. Wu believes that unit securityholders should have multiple options and that liquidation should be the last resort, citing concerns about the proposed new Manager's lack of capital contribution and high compensation package.
