Summary: Bronsted acid is one of the most classical and widely used
catalysts in organic synthesis. Most previous studies have focused on
developing high-activity catalysts through the design and development of
non-coordinating anions, but the design of Bronsted acid catalysts for
controlling the stereochemistry of products has not been well explored.
We have been developing chiral Bronsted acid catalysts that recognize
reactant substrates through hydrogen bonding and achieve highly controlled
reactions with high stereoselectivity. This lecture will introduce our
recent research results and the design and development of chiral Bronsted
base catalysts.
