Summary

Trudi en Geertje bezochten in april 2013 het Kinderhuis in Nepal, waar ze eerder geld aan hadden gedoneerd via het Nepal Project van de Watergraafsmeerse School Vereniging in Amsterdam. Bij aankomst werden ze warm verwelkomd door de kinderen en de leiding, waaronder Krishna, Susila, Durga, Sangita, Bavani en Rachana. Het kinderhuis heeft een goede sfeer, waar iedereen zijn steentje bijdraagt om alles draaiende te houden. De kinderen gaan 's ochtends naar school en doen 's avonds hun huiswerk, waarna ze soms spelletjes doen of tekenen. Trudi had 20 WakaWaka lampjes meegebracht, die op zonnecellen werken en duurzaam zijn, om de kinderen te helpen bij hun huiswerk en dagelijkse activiteiten. De lampjes werden meteen gebruikt en hadden een enorm effect. Tijdens hun verblijf vierden ze ook de trouwdag van Krishna en Susila en de kinderen gaven een avondprogramma met volksdansen, break dance moves en moppen. Het was een onvergetelijk verblijf in Salaghari.
