On November 2, 2023, the IAEA received a note verbale from the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the IAEA, which reported on the situation at the Zaporozhskaya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) as of October 31, 2023. The plant's external power source was available, and the emergency diesel generators had sufficient fuel for 22 days of operation. Radiation levels at the plant and surrounding areas were within normal limits. The plant had sufficient staff to ensure safe operation, and Russian regulatory authorities were overseeing the plant's activities. IAEA experts visited the plant from October 3 to 30 and conducted inspections and radiation monitoring. The note also reported on various social and cultural activities at the plant, including a competition for young workers and a health insurance program for employees. The Russian Mission requested that the IAEA distribute this information to all member states.
