The Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser (IESL) of the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (FORTH) is seeking to recruit one master student and one research assistant in the framework of Public Investments Programs “ΠΔΕ00734”. The successful applicants will work on designing and testing fiber optical breadboards for space applications.

For the master student position, the required qualifications include experience in design and implementation of fiber-optical systems, diode lasers, and optical measurements, as well as excellent knowledge of the English language. Additional qualifications include programming skills for data acquisition, ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment, and experience in computing. The position is located in Heraklion, Crete, Greece, with a start date of August 1, 2019, and a project duration of 6 months with a possibility of extension. The monthly salary is 500 euros.

For the research assistant position, the required qualifications are similar to those of the master student position. The research assistant will work on designing and testing fiber optical breadboards for space applications using professional electronic programs like Zemax. The position is also located in Heraklion, Crete, Greece, with a start date of August 1, 2019, and a project duration of 12 months with a possibility of extension. The monthly salary is approximately 900-950 euros net.
