Siston Parish Council meeting minutes from 18th March 2021:
Present were Councillors Andrew Stacey, Alan Bryant, Jon Gadsden, James Hackett, and Nathan Reed.
Apologies were received from Gloria Smith, and Jon Gadsden left early due to technical issues.
Declarations of interest were made by Councillors Bryant and Hackett regarding grant applications.
The minutes from the previous meeting were approved, and public participation included discussions on Suez lorries using unsuitable roads and issues with the pond in Felicity Park.
Financial matters included approved grants for Friends of Siston Common and Friends of William Champion's Garden, and the purchase of a new Tommy figurine for the War Memorial Garden.
The council also discussed allotments, prohibiting fires, and providing compost bins, as well as meeting dates for the coming year, which will be affected by the end of virtual meeting legislation.
An extraordinary meeting will be held in May, and the annual meeting will decide the position of Chair.
The council will not meet again until 15th July 2021, and the Scheme of Delegation will be extended to enable the clerk to handle matters in the absence of meetings.
A by-election for a new Parish Councillor will be held on 6th May 2021, with nominations due by 8th April 2021.
