Summary

Progress toward SDG 2 is not on track, with undernourishment and malnutrition in developing countries falling, but not fast enough to achieve the 2030 targets. Agricultural productivity has increased in some countries, but many others are being left behind. Developed countries have not reformed their agricultural trade and subsidy policies, and development assistance for food and nutrition security has not increased. Despite some individual success stories, the total amount of aid for food and nutrition security is flat, and challenges in data quality and availability make it difficult to draw decisive conclusions.
