Summary

A pilot program, Advancing Integration, taught policy and practice transformation skills to 12 young family physicians from 10 countries, aiming to integrate mental/behavioral health care into primary care. The 7-month program included virtual sessions, asynchronous learning, and mentorship, with learners setting individual goals, such as educating others about integrated care, improving team-based care, and establishing quality systems of care. Learners reported increased confidence and skills to implement change, and plan to remain connected and continue working towards their goals. The program was supported by the Wonca Executive Discretionary Fund and the Farley Health Policy Center, and will be evaluated with plans to fund future cohorts.
