Summary

Researchers from the University of Arizona Prevention Research Center and community partners used a community-based participatory research (CBPR) approach to develop methods for measuring a community health worker (CHW) community advocacy intervention. The intervention, called Acción Para La Salud (Action for Health), aimed to engage community members in advocating for community-driven policy change. The researchers used the Kingdon three-streams model of policy change as a theoretical framework and employed five research methods to monitor and measure CHW advocacy activities, including encounter forms, strategy maps, technical assistance notes, focus groups, and interviews.
