Summary

This research analyzes the performance of family planning counselors in Palembang city. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach, collecting primary data through observation and interviews with family planning counselors, community members, and institutional representatives. The results show that the performance of family planning counselors is quite good but not maximized, with limited effectiveness in providing information and counseling due to the limited number of extension workers and community preference for health workers. Factors influencing performance include education level, occupation, and limited training opportunities. The study concludes that the performance of family planning counselors can be improved by addressing these factors and increasing the effectiveness of their services.
