The Ozone Secretariat of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer submitted a report to the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM) of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) for its Fifteenth Session. The report highlights the cooperation between the two treaties, particularly on the use of methyl bromide, a potent ozone-depleting substance. The Methyl Bromide Technical Options Committee (MBTOC) and the Technical Panel on Phytosanitary Treatments (TPPT) have been working together since 2012 to promote alternatives to methyl bromide for quarantine and pre-shipment uses.
