Summary

Guided Online Cluster Assignment (GOCA) is proposed for self-supervised video representation learning, combining RGB and optical flow views to form semantically abstract and robust clusters. GOCA uses initial cluster assignments as priors to guide final assignments, allowing for joint training of both backbones and encouraging similar cluster structures. A novel prototype regularization method is also introduced to address feature collapse by maximizing distances between cluster prototypes. GOCA outperforms state-of-the-art methods on video retrieval and action recognition tasks, achieving 7% and 4% improvements on UCF and HMDB datasets for video retrieval, and 5% and 6% improvements for video classification.
