HC34 HIGH CHROME WHITE IRON meets ASTM Specification A-532 - 75 a Class III, Type A, with reduced carbon and increased alloy content for improved corrosion resistance, particularly in coal fired power industry applications with slurry conditions of pH 5, 140ºF, and 15% solids concentration. Custom formulations, such as HC34-C, offer increased alloy content and chromium to carbon ratios for more aggressive corrosive applications, with a stainless steel matrix and 20% minimum Carbide Volume Fraction (CVF) for excellent abrasion resistance. Chemical composition includes Chromium (34.00% MAX), Carbon (2.40% MAX), and other elements, with mechanical properties of Tensile Strength (72.5 - 86.5 KSI), Brinell Hardness (440 - 550 min), and Density (0.274 lbs/in3).
