Summary

Ofcom's Broadcast and On Demand Bulletin Issue 464 found Worthy 87.7 FM, the on-site radio station for the Glastonbury Festival, in breach of Rules 1.14, 1.16, and 2.3 of the Broadcasting Code for broadcasting offensive language, including the most offensive language, when children were likely to be listening. The station played the song "Miss Understood" by Little Simz, which contained the words "fucked" and "niggas", at 18:41 on June 23, 2022. The Licensee acknowledged the mistake, apologized, and explained that the song was not supposed to be played as it was not a clean version. Ofcom accepted that the Licensee had taken steps to prevent similar incidents in the future, including strengthening compliance controls.
