The Indiana Commission for Higher Education released annual pass rate data for first-time takers of the NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN licensure exams for Indiana nursing programs from 2012 to 2015. The data shows pass rates for RN programs, including associate and bachelor's degree programs, and LPN programs, categorized by public, not-for-profit, and for-profit sectors.

For RN associate degree programs, the overall pass rate in Indiana was 87.8% from 2012 to 2015, with public sector institutions having a pass rate of 91.2% in 2012 and 87.0% in 2015. Not-for-profit sector institutions had a pass rate of 86.3% in 2012 and 81.6% in 2015, while for-profit sector institutions had a pass rate of 66.7% in 2012 and 57.1% in 2015.

For RN bachelor's degree programs, the overall pass rate in Indiana was 89.7% from 2012 to 2015, with public sector institutions having a pass rate of 92.9% in 2012 and 91.4% in 2015. Not-for-profit sector institutions had a pass rate of 95.1% in 2012 and 90.9% in 2015.

For LPN programs, the overall pass rate in Indiana was 97.1% from 2012 to 2015 for public sector institutions and 76.7% for for-profit sector institutions.

The data also provides pass rates for individual institutions, including Ivy Tech Community College campuses, Purdue University, Vincennes University, and several not-for-profit and for-profit institutions. The source of the pass rate data is the Indiana State Board of Nursing and the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
