Nathan Durapau was arrested on June 16, 2020, during a protest against police brutality in Gretna, Louisiana, and was brutally beaten by Officers Justin K. McLin, Keiwana S. Wilkinson, and other unknown Officers of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office while handcuffed in the back of a van. The Officers punched and slapped Durapau in the face, verbally taunted him, and questioned his manhood, causing physical injuries, including a broken nose, and emotional trauma. Durapau seeks damages for the violation of his constitutional rights under the Fourth and Fourteenth Amendments and 42 U.S.C. § 1983.
