Jewish Peoplehood reflects fundamental Jewish concepts, but issues related to it are not approached strategically. Two watershed events, the 1994 AMIA bombing and the 1998 creation of Birthright Israel, highlighted the need for a strategic approach to Jewish Peoplehood policy making. However, two factors hinder this: the Israeli policy structure is insufficient in dealing with Jewish Peoplehood issues, and the establishment designed to address the Israel-Diaspora relationship has not adapted to change. To address these factors, Israeli policy makers need support from specialized experts, and the current establishment needs to be streamlined to maximize efficiency, with an emphasis on communication, transparency, and partnership among philanthropic partners. The Yesod-Masad Initiative aims to facilitate strategic engagement in Jewish Peoplehood issues by providing real-time, in-depth information and holistic support to policy makers and influencers.
