4. Lumbar spine segmental mobility examination: This stage evaluates the patient's lumbar spine segmental mobility, movement/pain relationship, and palpable positional asymmetry to determine the best treatment approach.
5. Associated impairments: This stage provides intervention to normalize impairments associated with the patient's symptoms or functional limitations, including mobility/flexibility deficits, muscle strength/motor control deficits, and coordination deficits.

The algorithm also includes clinical prediction rule screening, which considers factors such as duration of symptoms, symptoms distal to the knee, FABQ work score, detection of lumbar hypomobility, and hip internal rotation. The treatment approaches include lumbar stabilization/modality procedures, extension procedures and exercises, lateral shift procedures and exercises, and spinal manipulation procedures.
