The UNCAC Coalition's submission to the 9th UNCAC Conference of the States Parties outlines priorities for combating corruption in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, where corruption undermines trust in public institutions, impedes economic development, and negatively impacts people's rights. The priorities include:

1. Fostering the rule of law and good governance practices by formulating and implementing effective national laws in line with international conventions, especially the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC).
2. Establishing independent and effective anti-corruption bodies with sufficient political independence, human and financial resources, and a strong mandate.
3. Addressing impunity for crimes of corruption by establishing the independence of the public prosecution and ensuring the proper functioning of the judicial system.
4. Reforming judicial systems to enhance their efficacy and adopting criminal policies on the confiscation of proceeds of crime.
5. Drafting legislation to curb money laundering in the private sector.
6. Establishing effective transparency in the management of public affairs by protecting the right to information and adopting access to information laws.
7. Engaging in the Open Government Partnership (OGP) to promote transparency, participation, and accountability.
