Kent State University's Board of Trustees met on May 31, 2017, with all members present. The meeting began with an executive session to discuss employment, compensation, and negotiations with public employees. After the executive session, the board met as a Committee of the Whole to discuss the comprehensive facilities master planning process. Chair Larry Pollock congratulated President Beverly Warren, faculty, staff, and students on another outstanding academic year, noting the university's progress toward its Strategic Roadmap goals. President Warren reported on the university's accomplishments, including a record 10 years of enrollment growth, increasing retention and graduation rates, and the success of the first-ever One University Commencement. She also shared stories of student success and expressed gratitude to the KeyBank Foundation for supporting the Dynamic Education and Engagement of Diverse Students (DEEDS) initiative.
