Researchers used combinatorial RNAi screening in human breast epithelial cells to study genetic epistasis among 67 cancer genes frequently altered in breast cancer. They found hundreds of previously unreported genetic interactions (GIs) among these genes, which are enriched in gene pairs that synergistically impact patient survival when mutated.
