Summary

Researchers propose a Neural Design Network (NDN) for generating graphic design layouts that satisfy user-specified constraints. The NDN consists of three modules: relation prediction, layout generation, and refinement. It takes a graph with partial edges as input, representing components and user-specified constraints, and outputs a layout with predicted bounding boxes for all components. The method is evaluated on three datasets and demonstrates favorable performance against existing models in terms of realism, alignment, and visual quality. The researchers also demonstrate real use cases and a layout recommendation application, and collect a real-world advertisement layout dataset to broaden existing layout benchmarks.
