Summary

Researchers from the European Twisted Mass Collaboration (ETMC) calculated the tensor form factors for D → π and D → K transitions using lattice QCD with Nf = 2 + 1 + 1 dynamical quarks. They found that the data exhibit a remarkable breaking of Lorentz symmetry due to hypercubic effects, which can be removed using a method presented in a previous paper. The calculation was performed at three different lattice spacings and with pion masses as small as 210 MeV. The results are important for constraining the Standard Model and placing bounds on New Physics models, particularly in the context of semileptonic D → π(K)ℓν decays and rare decays c → uℓ+ℓ−.
