Summary

Er waren verschillende besprekingen van de begeleidingsgroep over het geschiedschrijving van bezet Nederland door De Jong. De leden van de groep hadden veel opmerkingen over de montage van het geheel en vonden dat De Jong te veel materiaal had gebruikt. Brugmans pleitte voor meer knippen in het materiaal. De kritiek had vooral betrekking op de beoordeling van het beleid van de regering in Londen, de coördinatie van de illegaliteit en de weergave van de toestand tijdens de laatste oorlogswinter. De Jong besprak de geallieerde opmars naar Duitsland en de bevrijding van Nederland, maar sommige leden vroegen zich af waarom hij sommige gebeurtenissen, zoals de aanslag op Hitler en de opstand van Warschau, uitvoerig had behandeld.
