PM C4ISR OTM: Large-Scale C4ISR And Networking Tech Demo (E08).pdf

C4ISR On-the-Move (PM C4ISR OTM), a Research, Development, and Engineering Command organization, executed the largest C4ISR and Networking Technology Demonstration in April to August 2008. E08 built upon previous events, featuring over 100 live communications, sensor, and battle command systems integrated into a network-centric environment.

Key Features:

- Integrated Architecture: E08 utilized a single, integrated architecture for multiple coordinated activities (Axes of Exploration).
- Scale and Complexity: It was three times larger than the 2006 Capstone Experiment, employing advanced data collection and simulation techniques.
- Participating Organizations: Over 75 Government, industry, and military organizations, including soldiers from the 29th Infantry Regiment, participated with approximately 400 people on peak days.
- Objectives: Axes of Exploration focused on Brigade and Above, Brigade and Below, FCS/Future Force, Modeling and Simulation, and Instrumentation, addressing diverse Army transformation needs.
- Collaborative Efforts: In addition to technology demonstrations, collaborative efforts explored technology readiness in a unique environment.

Achievements:

- Provided a test/assess-analyze-integrate platform for future force initiatives, accelerating their development into the current force.
- Offered risk mitigation and systems integration venues for Empire Challenge 08.
- Quantified integrated C4ISR capabilities and technology transition risks.
