Training and education are crucial for displaced workers to find stable jobs in the post-pandemic recovery, but programs must be reimagined with equity at the forefront to benefit everyone equally. Five design considerations are recommended: thinking critically about technology use, expanding re-employment options, adopting flexible programming models, supporting program staff, and embracing partnerships. Additionally, providers should consider the impact of trauma on learners and program employees. By prioritizing equity and flexibility, training programs can play a key role in driving a more equitable recovery and providing workers with the skills and support they need to thrive in the post-pandemic economy.
