The IB Diploma Programme is a rigorous education program for students aged 16-19, aiming to prepare them for university and life beyond. It encourages students to be knowledgeable, inquiring, caring, and compassionate, and to develop intercultural understanding and open-mindedness. The program consists of six courses from six distinct groups, with at least three subjects taken at higher level and the remaining at standard level. The economics course, in particular, emphasizes microeconomic and macroeconomic theories and their real-world application, and encourages students to develop international perspectives and awareness of global issues. The course is assessed through four objectives: knowledge and understanding, application and analysis, synthesis and evaluation, and selection and use of appropriate skills and techniques. Assessment includes external exams and an internal portfolio of commentaries.
