Summary

The US Department of State's Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) is extending temporary suspensions, modifications, and exceptions to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) to allow regular employees to work remotely and access technical data from remote locations, as long as they are not in a country listed in ITAR § 126.1. The extensions are due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and will remain in effect until a final rule is published. Meanwhile, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is publishing an interim final rule to restore certain definitions and certifications related to affirmatively furthering fair housing (AFFH) and provide technical assistance to funding recipients, with an effective date of July 31, 2021.
