Summary

Dear parents/carers of Year 4, welcome back after the Easter break. Ensure your child has sunscreen, a sunhat, healthy snacks, and named containers and clothing. The literacy focus is on a Victorian historical setting and newspaper reports, with reading comprehension on 'The House with Chicken Legs'. Literacy homework includes reading AR books, practising spelling lists, and recording reading progress.

In maths, the term's focus includes comparing numbers, estimating measures, solving problems with fractions and decimals, and reading and converting time. Maths homework will begin, and times tables practice will continue.

In science, the class will explore food chains, states of matter, and light. The topic focus is on Geography, with class visits on 20th May and 30th June. Other subjects include PE, PSHE, MFL, and Music. Please encourage your child to complete homework and discuss class learning behaviours.
