Summary

Pilar Lorenzana-Campo of SV@Home thanks the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and the Association of Bay Area Governments for their efforts to create a regional framework for coordinated land use and transportation planning. However, she remains concerned about the exacerbation of the jobs-housing imbalance in Santa Clara County and the disconnect with current housing goals. She encourages the commissioners to take additional steps to ensure a more equitable balance between jobs and housing, include short- and long-term strategies to achieve this balance, and provide a roadmap for addressing affordable housing goals. She also notes that some cities' housing projections are lower than their approved or planned housing goals, and that the Final Preferred Scenario's projections may not meet the Regional Housing Needs Allocation requirements.
