The competition is announced within the cooperation of the protected areas of KP Goričko, NP Raab, and NP Őrség, aiming to strengthen cooperation among elementary schools in the tri-border park area and raise awareness about the importance of preserving nature and cultural heritage. The chosen theme contributes to raising awareness about the importance of high-trunk orchards and the preservation of embroidery as a handicraft skill. This school year, students and mentors are invited to embroider a pictorial motif of an apple. Embroidery is a handicraft that involves decorating clothing and other materials using a needle, thread, and various stitches. The competition is open to students from 1st to 9th grade of elementary schools in the area of the Goričko Landscape Park, NP Raab, and NP Őrség. The deadline for submitting applications is February 24, 2023, and the deadline for submitting works is April 14, 2023. A free embroidery workshop for mentors will be organized on March 4, 2023. The best works will be evaluated by an international jury and exhibited in the exhibition spaces of Grad Castle until the end of June. All participants will receive a certificate of participation and a prize, while the authors of the best works will receive recognition and prizes.
