Hallmark Cards, founded in 1910, has 28,000 employees worldwide and a PMO of 15 people responsible for maximizing investments and reducing risk. The PMO used disparate tools and labored practices, hindering productivity and visibility, with teams using various project management tools, sticky notes, and spreadsheets.

The PMO sought a single collaboration tool that met strict security standards, was flexible, and worked for offsite and remote resources. They selected Planview Projectplace after an extensive pilot, which improved visibility, streamlined project and task procedures, and increased team collaboration and productivity.

Using Projectplace, Hallmark Cards digitized story map management, project execution, and archaic Kanban board practices, saving approximately 1,000 man hours a year. The solution provided real-time visibility, enabled collaborative Kanban boards, and made invisible work visible.

Results include a single, secure, and virtual place to collaborate, reduced PMO meetings, 24/7 access to real-time task status, reduced emails and eliminated spreadsheets, and expanded collaboration workspaces to additional teams.
