Summary

NTCA's 2022 Broadband/Internet Availability Survey reports on the deployment of broadband networks and services by its member companies, which are rural community-based providers. The survey found that respondents have an average of 4,287 residential and 648 business fixed broadband connections, with 80% of customers subscribing to broadband services. The majority of serviceable locations (79.3%) are served by fiber to the home (FTTH), with an increase of 4.3 percentage points from 2021. The survey also reports on downstream and upstream service availability, with 91.2% of respondents' customers able to receive maximum downstream speeds of 25Mbps or higher, and 84.1% able to receive maximum upstream speeds of 20Mbps or higher. Additionally, the survey found that 12.2% of customers subscribe to speeds of 1Gig or higher, and 80% subscribe to speeds of 25Mbps or higher.
