NOTTINGHAMSHIRE AMATEUR SWIMMING ASSOCIATION minutes of the board meeting held on 9th April at Hucknall Leisure Centre. Present were Richard Roberts, Kate Bull, Denniss Bull, Roy Crampton, Terry Taylor, and Wendy Coles. Apologies were received from David Fortescue, Maureen Shaw, Chris Freebury, and Mark Greenwood.

Matters arising from minutes included the issue of ribbons not being provided by British Gas, which Notts ASA resolved by obtaining their own. The development of changes within the East Midlands and ASA was discussed, with the secretary explaining the current situation and awaiting templates from various committees.

Officials' training was discussed, with the board deciding to ask mentors to report on the progress of trainee officials within clubs. Swimming updates included an email from Kimberley thanking Notts ASA for a well-run County Age Group Competition and congratulations to Rosie Rudin and Amber Keegan on being selected for the British European Junior Swimming Championships.

Water Polo leagues were reported to be running smoothly, with updates on East Midlands Water Polo and new appointments. The Leagues committee expressed disappointment at the lack of volunteers for the Gala Coordinator role and suggested appointing a third club to take on this responsibility.

Other business included reports on finance, with County Affiliation fees received from ASA, and the purchase of new equipment. The website was reported to be working well, but tuition was still required for key personnel to update it. Volunteer Coordinator Roy Crampton had not received communication from the ASA Volunteer Dept despite several discussions.

Recent complaints received included issues with medals for disabled swimmers, rescheduling of disabled events, and possible fudging of entry times for Age Groups. These complaints were addressed and actions assigned to relevant committees. The meeting concluded at 9:05pm.
