Brookfield Place announces its 2022 Lunar New Year celebration, a multi-day event commemorating the Spring Festival in partnership with the New York Chinese Cultural Center. The celebration takes place from February 3-5 and features live ice carving, kids' crafts, and surprise performances. The event includes the return of the crowd-favorite Lunar Ice, an exhibition of ice sculptures by Okamoto Studio, with eight intricately carved ice sculptures depicting Lunar New Year symbols and characters on display throughout the Waterfront Plaza.

Visitors can shop for a cause and celebrate Lunar New Year in support of Apex for Youth by spending $100 or more between January 31st and February 7th, with Brookfield Place donating $8 to Apex for Youth for each $100 spent. The donation will be up to $28,000 total.

The event schedule includes live ice carving and exhibition times, with the ice sculpture display open from 12:00-8:00 PM on Friday, February 4, and from 11:30 AM-6:30 PM on Saturday, February 5. A kids' craft, Lunar New Year Creative Lantern, will be held on Saturday, February 5 at 11:00 AM, with free craft kits provided by the New York Chinese Cultural Center.
