Summary

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has become a tool for enterprises to pursue competitive advantage, with research focusing on its effect on financial outcomes. However, there is a research gap in the micro-level study of CSR, particularly regarding the stakeholder group of employees. Employees' perceived CSR (perceived CSR) is deserving of attention, as it can affect organizational commitment, staff turnover, and productivity. A meta-analysis of 65 studies explores the relationship between perceived CSR and work outcomes, finding that perceived CSR is positively related to positive attitudes and behaviors and negatively related to negative attitudes and behaviors. The results also support the moderating effects of demographic characteristics and national culture. This study confirms the psychological effects of perceived CSR and provides suggestions for enterprises to use CSR strategies to motivate employees.
