The British Society for Neuroendocrinology (BSN) conducted a review of its equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) practices in 2020, which highlighted areas for improvement, including underrepresentation of female and racial minority groups in senior roles and grant panels. An EDI strategy was developed with three goals for 2021/2022, including surveying the membership community to understand diversity and perceptions relating to EDI. The survey results showed that 55% of responders were female, 76% were white, and 82% were in full-time employment. Approximately 50% of responders thought the BSN's EDI practices were excellent or good, while 62% thought they were better than or the same as other societies. Significant distributional differences were noted among gender groups in relation to roles/positions, with more males in senior academic categories. The perception of EDI practices differed across gender groups, with more males than females responding that the BSN's EDI practices were excellent or acceptable.
