KIT Royal Tropical Institute is an independent centre of expertise, entrepreneurship and hospitality dedicated to sustainable development, guided by the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In 2021, KIT assisted governments, NGOs, and private corporations in building inclusive and sustainable societies through research, training, and advisory services focusing on global health, economic development, gender, and intercultural communication. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, KIT adapted and embedded new approaches, such as online-facilitation methodologies, into its work, and implemented its four-year strategy from 2021 to 2024, engaging the power of its Knowledge Unit and Campus. KIT's work included projects like Young Women for Awareness, Advocacy and Accountability (YW4A) and the Agri-food Program for Integrated Resilience and Economic Development in the Sahel (Pro-ARIDES), and it conducted the final evaluation of the Dutch Agreement on Sustainable Garments and Textile. KIT also made progress in global health, education, and hospitality, and supported the SDGs on its campus, including through its SDG House resident community and hybrid events.
