- Vision: To be the premier financial service education and training institution in Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean, providing effective and relevant education programs, and to be the authorized certification and standards qualification governing body for the financial services sector.

- Mission: To advance the knowledge, skills, and ethical conduct of the insurance industry by providing educational programs that contribute to the professional development and interaction of students and members.

- Objects and Functions: The Institute aims to advance insurance knowledge, encourage professional examinations, set ethical standards, promote industry welfare, develop social relations, and cooperate with other organizations. It also recommends licensing, sets industry standards, operates a certifying authority, provides education and training, and promotes industry interests.

- Annual General Meeting (AGM): Scheduled for December 1, 2020, the AGM will receive and approve minutes of the previous meeting, annual reports from the Board of Governors and Council of Trustees, and audited financial statements. It will also appoint auditors and announce new members to the Board of Governors and Council of Trustees.

- Corporate Members (2019-2020): A list of 40 corporate members, including insurance companies, brokers, and consultants, is provided.
