To work with SEND students (aged 16-21) alongside their dedicated college carers to finish the development of a Woodland Trail in the Museum grounds. To plan and deliver a series of fun gardening workshops one day a week to SEND students. To deliver any gardening or minor maintenance around the museum grounds as required to deliver the project. To deliver a celebration event for the students, their family members and carers.

Key Result Areas include:
1. Project managing and delivering a simple 'Woodland Trail' in the Museum grounds
2. Planning and delivering a series of enjoyable gardening workshops for SEND students
3. Managing and using a small resource budget
4. Supporting the current development of family-friendly interpretation panels and play resources
5. Planning for and creating small maintainable flower beds or flower pots with the students
6. Carrying out the development of basic footpaths and clearing of scrub from some agreed spaces
7. Ensuring the grounds meet H&S standards before students arrive
8. Maintaining and checking manual gardening tools before and after use
9. Working under COVID19 regulations and social distancing
10. Working with and motivating volunteers who may wish to support the project and grounds maintenance
11. Reporting back to Heart of Bucks the impact of the project on students, carers, Museum visitors and grounds.

Essential criteria include:
Experience of gardening either as a job or as a long-term hobby
Experience of planning a session or workshop for young people
Experience of communicating with and supporting SEND students and carers
Experience of developing a simple scheme of flower bed or flowerpot planting
Training, supervising, motivating and co-ordinating volunteers
Working in an environment that attracts external visitors
Any suitable training that reflects your gardening knowledge
Experience of managing and delivering a community engagement project.

Desirable criteria include:
Experience of managing and delivering a community engagement project
Qualification in gardening or horticulture
Knowledge of Health & Safety at work including the ability to read or write a basic risk assessment
Be able to work safely
To have an understanding of Health and Safety guidelines such as using portable tools applicable to their role.

Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children, young people and vulnerable adults.
