Mahidol University's research strategies were established through brainstorming meetings among administrative bodies, researchers, and stakeholders. The strategies focus on effective research administration, funding allocation, and enhancing research personnel's capabilities. Specific strategies include producing and supporting high-quality researchers, fostering research competitiveness, supporting research that benefits local and global communities, and improving research management and facilities. In 2009, the university allocated 222,401,400 Baht to fund 152 research projects and provided funding for researchers to present their work at international conferences. The university also emphasizes the importance of research ethics and has established the Mahidol University Institutional Review Board (MU-IRB) to oversee human research and ensure that researchers adhere to international ethics standards.
