The President of the 10th Jury of the International Rosa Barba Prize thanks the scientific committee, staff, and Collegi d'Architectes de Cayalunya for hosting the event, and recognizes the dedicated group of practitioners, teachers, staff, and volunteers who have been involved with the Biennal and the Rosa Barba Prize for the past two decades. The jury reviewed over 180 entries and selected several projects for special recognition, including the Jiahe River Country Park in China, the Sacca Sessola Island Open Spaces and Historical Park in Venice, and the Saxholl Crater Stairway in West Iceland, which was awarded the Rosa Barba International Landscape Prize. The jury praises the projects for their innovative and sustainable approaches to landscape architecture, and for addressing urgent ecological, economic, and social questions of our time. The Linear Park Curenavaca Railroad in Mexico City received a Special Mention for its attention to the needs of underserved populations and its recognition of the importance of urban forestry. The jury believes that these projects demonstrate the potential for landscape architecture to have a positive impact on the challenges of our time.
