Playdough recipe
Let's make playdough that you can use to play with some fantasy foods!
This recipe makes enough dough for three children

You will need:
Food colouring or child-safe paint
1 cup flour
½ cup salt
½ tablespoon of cooking oil
½ cup water
Bowl

Mix a few drops of food colouring with the water and oil and gradually mix with the flour and salt (use the liquid slowly - you can always add more)!
Knead the dough. Add a little flour if it's too sticky, or a little water if it's too crumbly.
Children love mixing the dough! If you're worried about mess, put the ingredients in a ziplock bag so the children can "massage" it until it's combined.

You can keep the mixture in the fridge if you want it to last a little longer, but it will start to crumble after a while.

Add with the children, pins, stamps, cutters and enjoy!
(Tip - this works well in high chair trays!)

Try making different foods from your dough. You could try making cupcakes - make a ball of dough the size of a cupcake box, then roll out a long sausage to curl around and add icing on top. Use a little water to stick the different parts together.

You could try making different pastries, like this iced cake! Or maybe try making a pizza slice, roll out the dough and cut a triangle for the base then add a thin slice of cheese and smaller circles and shapes for toppings.
