Technique: Log Cabin with Straight Furrows setting
Finished Size: 35" x 48 1/2"
Materials:
+ 1/8 yard purple print (block centers)
+ 10-12 fat eighths assorted light orange and cream prints (blocks)
+ 10-12 fat eighths assorted orange, brown, and black prints (blocks)
+ 7/8 yard orange tone-on-tone (backing)
+ 1 1/8 yards brown print (front and back borders)
+ 1/2 yard dark orange print (binding)
Cutting Instructions:
+ Cut 11 1/4"-wide strips from assorted prints
+ Cut specific rectangles and squares from strips
Assembly:
1. Sew together Log Cabin blocks
2. Assemble table topper center with Straight Furrows setting
3. Add front and back borders
Finishing:
1. Hand-stitch X's at block intersections (optional)
2. Bind with dark orange print binding strips

Large Table Mat

Materials:
+ Leftover 11 1/4"-wide strips from Log Cabin table topper
+ 18" x 22" piece black stripe (border)
+ 18" x 22" piece orange print (binding)
+ 1/2 yard backing fabric
+ 18" x 24" batting
Cutting Instructions:
+ Cut 11 1/4" squares and rectangles from leftover strips
+ Cut border strips and binding strips
Assembly:
1. Sew together Four-Patch units
2. Assemble large table mat top
* Finishing:
1. Layer and quilt large table mat top
2. Bind with orange print binding strips
