Графическое изображение — основа оформления книги, определяемое как искусство рисовать, с использованием линии, черного и белого пятна, контрастом черного и белого цвета. Существуют различные виды графических изображений: линейная и контрастная графика, тоновые графические изображения, промежуточные формы — изображения, выполненные при помощи штрихов, но производящие впечатление тоновых. Графика оперирует геометрическими формами, но это не означает, что она абстрагирует предметный мир. Графическое изображение может быть не только одноцветным, но и многоцветным.
