Россия развивается без понятной обществу стратегии, включая сферу образования. Массовое создание негосударственных вузов сменилось их сокращением, введение ЕГЭ не привело к ожидаемым результатам. Профессорско-преподавательский состав не получает достойной зарплаты, и вузы не могут сами зарабатывать деньги. Ректоры вузов часто назначаются министерством без выборов, и старая ректорская гвардия уходит на покой. Назначенная министром образования Ольга Васильева выправила положение дел, но команду нужно растить длительный срок. Ректоры хотели бы знать, за что награждены орденами руководители некоторых вузов. В стране назрело обсуждение насущных проблем, включая сохранение "души" образования.
